The male perspective on Boudoir

The male perspective in Boudoir.

My first session was a little overwhelming. I went into the session thinking  I needed to fit a body expectation. I figured I needed to be fit, strong, burly, and other expectations society has put on men.

I did not know I would be showing my more vulnerable side during the session. I was asked to relax, open up, and take a deep breath. During the session, I would have to stretch and do small workouts to get the muscles to pop to get the perfect photo. Other times, I would take a deep breath and be vulnerable.

Being vulnerable does not make you weak. I know society has a stigma on men being strong no matter the cost. In the end, our partners enjoy seeing this side of us. Do not get me wrong there was also the masculine side of the photography. I mentioned before I had to do some workouts and stretch to the muscles showing.

After working all day and coming home to work some more, our partners only get to see our work. After showing my partner my photos our connection became stronger.
