The Perfect Checklist to Choose & Get ready for a Boudoir Session

A Boudoir session is the perfect way to celebrate YOU!
To embrace your body & self in all the ways and let go of your nerves, doubts and overcome all those pesky insecurities that hold you back from loving yourself the way you should.
This checklist is made JUST FOR YOU!
All the things to do to prepare & get excited for a boudoir Session!
From the moment the idea pops into your head til the very end!

So lets get to it….

GETTING STARTED

  • Decide What “style” or Look you like when it comes to boudoir - There are many styles, light dark, cutesy edgy, sensual - What fits you best?

  • Choose your location - do you want to stay local or are you willing to travel for your boudoir photography session?

  • Choose your photographer - dive deep into their websites, social medias , read reviews , join their groups, see if you get the vibe that you want from them, once you do, book!

  • See what your photographer has to offer! What do you NEED to bring & What is provided for you? Outfits? Hair & Makeup? Products?

  • Stop worrying! You are in good hands atleast we know for sure you are if you’ve chosen The boudoir Studio

ONCE YOURE BOOKED!

  • Use this opportunity to pamper yourself IN ALL ways.

  • go shopping! Get new lingerie, a new big comfy sweater, some sexy heels, maybe some kinky accessories?!

  • If you’ve booked here at The boudoir Studio you will start working on building your confidence & intimacy right away with our self love assignments, intimacy tasks, & more.

2 MONTHS OUT!

  • Start drinking water daily. Get into hydrating now babes! Water is so helpful to make you look and feel your best! Don’t like it plain try out CIRKUL water bottles they are literally AMAZING and come in all the flavors. They are super helpful when it comes to hydrating your body thus, your skin! and making you feel your utmost best!.

  • This is your last opportunity to get any tattoos you want to be presented in your session. I do not recommend getting tattoos any closer to your session than two months, to give your skin a chance to heal properly. It is next to impossible to edit out scabs and flaky skin on tattoos.

  • If you get waxed or sugared, now is the time to schedule your appointment for 3-5 days before your session.

1 MONTH OUT

  • Time to go and see your hairstylist! If you regularly get your hair cut or colored / permed whatever fits your vibe! This way if shit goes sideways there can be color or cut corrections prior to your session. Don’t use this appointment to experiment with your hair or go for a massive change! We want you to love your photographs, and if you have a haircut or style gone wrong, it could negatively impact how you feel during your expeirence.

  • You don’t have to do this, but… if carbs or salt cause you bloat or not feel the best, start to cut them out. We want you to feel good at your session, not uncomfortable but we also know you look absolutely perfect as you are, so do what will make you FEEL the best. Don’t worry, we have tons of carbs at the studio, so we can have a carb party at the end of your shoot!

  • Try on your outfits if you are bringing any, or take a look at your photographers client closet if they have a online gallery and narrow down/pick out some of your choices.

  • Continue to drink a lot of water & work on those self love & intimacy assignments & tasks!
Start Stretching in the mornings a couple times a week!

3-5 Days out

  • If you wax or sugar, its time to go for it, to give your skin a chance to calm down if you happen to experience any redness or sensitivity.

  • Exfoliate. Lotion up daily!

  • Time to get that mani and pedi! ( no bright colors!!!!!)

  • Continue to drink all the water, stretch practice self-love!
Stop alcohol intake! it will make you bloated tired and not at your peak!
Create a playlist for your session on spotify if your photographer is up to it!

The Day before Your Boudoir Photography Session

  • Pack your bag with outfits, shoes, and any accessories you want to bring.
    Keep drinking that water.
Keep stretching & take a look at some light yoga videos on youtube! it will be super helpful!

  • Make double-sure your outfits fit and you want to wear them.

  • Wash and blow out your hair right before bed. This is especially important if you have fine hair, so it holds a curl or wave the next day.

  • Lotion or oil whatever you like best! it’s time to Moisturize some more!

  • Get a good night’s sleep!

The Day of your Boudoir Photo Shoot!!!

  • Make sure you bring that water bottle along with you to your sesh!
On your car ride jam out to that amazing playlist you made!

  • Use clear deodorant. - but don’t forget it! nervous or not you’re going to sweat!

  • Eat something light but filling. granola bars, yogurt, and smoothies are great options Trust me, you’re going to burn it off. I promise and you don’t want to skip out and not feel well or get lightheaded during your sesh!

  • Wear comfortable, loose clothing to your boudoir session to prevent lines on your skin and to be your most comfortable. I recommend coming braless! You can change privately here.

  • Come with a clean face and dry hair - so you’re ready to go for the hair & makeup team if it’s provided! If it’s not included get up early and make sure you get your hair & makeup exactly the way you want it and remember that it needs to be a tinge darker for the camera!

  • Make sure you leave with plenty of time to arrive, because #traffic, construction, needing to pee? wanting a coffee. Mom brain? I get it. just give yourself an extra 15 minutes okay!?

  • Have a blast! Remember, nerves are normal, but think about how exciting this is going to be and how much freaking fun!!! Show up ready to let go and chat with your tog and her team the more you talk the more fun you’ll have you’ll loosen up in no time! So bring your positive affirmations, fearlessness, and badassery!
