Kinky: Such a Fun misunderstood word : The boudoir Studio featured writer : ashleigh hibbard
Kinky. A word that means many things to many people and yet has no real boundaries on what it is. Anything outside of the norm of sex would probably be the best definition but even that isn't quite accurate. It's more of a label placed on what other peoples idea of normal is then anything outside of that box.
Most people are kinky. They have kinks. Little things that turn them on like nothing else. Sometimes it's socially accepted like lingerie or dad bods. Sometimes it's in an entirely different realm such as BDSM. Most fall in-between where it's not full on vanilla but it's not BDSM.
Kinks themselves are called paraphilia in psychology. Just because there is a technical term for it doesn't make it a negative though. Far from it! Exploring what revs your engine is sure to put a whole new spin on your sex life. Trust me.
Explore and don't be afraid to ask and talk with people who enjoy similar kinks. There is always a chatroom or a group open somewhere. If it's one of the wilder kinks like rope or wax play there is often a whole slew of people willing to teach and share wisdom to anyone. If it's something a little tamer and you are a little shyer then again groups and there is always instructional videos. Just don't jump into edge play without an instructor it's not safe.
All in all It's YOUR LIFE. YOUR BODY and what makes YOU happy is what matters.
Just remember to be Safe, Sane and Consensual at all times. SSC is a rule in BDSM but I find it works well for life in general. So with that go and enjoy being your kinky selves without shame.
