Miss J + Mr. T: Couples Boudoir Experience : North Carolina Boudoir Photography

When I refer people to The Boudoir Studio, they eventually come back to me with something along the lines of "The prices are so high, how do you justify spending that much on photos?"  I've done two sessions with Brii and have a third scheduled to happen. Her work, the experience she provides, and the quality of products she offers does all of the justifying necessary for the fact that my invoices for each session have been between $1800 and $2800 including the session fees. 

So what did I get for all of that money? Well my first session I got an empowering, confidence building experience from the moment I started enquiring about the Boudoir Studio. The energy Brii creates in her studio is so positive and welcoming, and her totally hype person demeanor makes it easy to be open with her. I didn’t have to worry about trying to do my hair or make up, neither of which I'm very good at, because it was all included in my session fee. I also got access to the HUGE client closet filled with a variety of pieces for all sizes and body styles, as well as the benefit of Brii's years of experience and knowledge regarding what types of pieces would best flatter and photography on my body type. I got a session that was full of encouragement and lessons that my body could do things I wasn’t sure it could do for some of the poses that best showed off my features. At my viewing I got to choose from over 200 amazing photos that showed me the beauty of my body as it is.  While my photos were edited artistically, in honoring the mission of helping people love their bodies as they are, my body was left unedited. The hardest thing was narrowing down all of those beautiful photos to 20 for the matted prints in the leather keepsake box that I chose.  My second session was a couples session, I got all of the things I mentioned from my first session, but my husband also got that same empowerment and encouragement, and we got an experience designed to help us regain our connection. This session was a beautiful mix of the sweet moments, laughter, and sexual connection much like our marriage has been. We got a reminder in some of the questions Brii asked of who we were as a couple and why we work. At our viewing we were presented with so many beautiful, that captured our essence as a couple perfectly that it was again almost impossible to choose between them. With the package we chose we got an album with 20 photos, digitals, AND a piece of wall art.

In addition to all of this, I got a relationship with a fantastic photographer who is willing to put herself WAY out of her comfort zone to  get the photos we're both envisioning for my next session. I got a wonderful woman empowering, sex positive, inclusive community from her Facebook group, because her mission doesn’t end with the receipt of your products. I got access to her sexy selfie guide available to her clients through her website. I got to support a bad-ass woman owned small business. 

But most importantly I got myself back. I got my confidence, my belief that I am a strong, beautiful, sexy woman back.  As a couple we got reconnected with each other and what brought and keeps us together. Those things alone make every cent we spent worth it.
